Conscious Leaders Are a Critical Competitive Advantage: An IFS Lens on the Development Journey
Most models of conscious leadership ignore the fact that 95% of our behavior and decisions are guided by our unconscious. IFS gives us a model for working with the plural mind, including conscious and unconscious parts of us still connected to childhood. If left unexplored, these diligent, young, hard-working and loving parts, mostly single digit in age, try their best to manage a VUCA world - repeatedly failing with little insight gained. Safety is their focus - and if our internal system is under threat these activated parts prevent new learning leading to new behavior.
Here is the great news that Suzanne wants to share with you in this session. The IFS model gives us an uplifting paradigm and a set of practices that can set these over-worked, over-giving and chronically depleted parts free. When parts in our system are identified, understood and befriended - they relax, allowing space for us to grow, even in these uncertain times.
In the webinar session you will:
- Find and focus on the part/s connected to a professional relationship you’d like to improve.
- Gain insight into these parts. They are happy to tell their story including the role they have taken on and what they fear will happen if they are not doing their job.
- Understand what the part/s need from you in order to relax. This opens space for learning especially when vulnerability, transparency, and building trust are necessary.
- Identify simple short practices linked to the IFS model that can lower the waterline on your autopilot and unconscious behavior.
Suzanne Lahl and associates at the SyncUp Leadership Group are educators, practitioners, and researchers in vertical development - growing mindsets to meet the complexity and uncertainty of the world in which we lead.
Over the past several years they’ve been translating and integrating the most powerful therapeutic model for working with unconscious behavior, Internal Family Systems (IFS), into the world of organizations. Their innovative work is recognized by Richard Schwartz, the founder of IFS.
