About the Event
Organization development is both a professional field of social action and an area of scientific inquiry. – Thomas G. Cummings and Christopher G. Worley
This session takes a deep look at Cumming and Worley's description of the field and their definition of OD, as it answers the questions: Is all Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) consulting the same? Are OD principles, frameworks, and methodologies applicable to DEI interventions? Is it time for the multidisciplinary study of DEI to split off into its own field of study?
Interactive and thought-provoking, the session uses communal sensemaking to create a container for OD practitioners to unpack DEI intervention requests as presenting problems, unearth global DEI trends, and demystify the acronym soup associated with the field of Diversity & Inclusion.
Renée A. Freeman (she, her) is the CEO and founder of Freeman Consulting & Associates, LLC, a global consultancy service specializing in Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion work.
